Zurfluh Twins

Ricky at a funeral somewhere in East Texas in his full Military Dress Uniform.

Rick and Janet at the Faire.
He made her skirt and blouse, teaching didn’t leave much sewing time.
I made her miser's purse and both boys made their boots and much of their leather pouches and both sporrans.

Rob and Elly at the Texas Ren. Faire wearing mostly homemade costumes.
Rob made Elly's skirt, vest, blouse and muffin hat, I made his suede doublet and he made his shirt.

The Piper is Ricky, he is self taught on the bagpipes. We saw Patrick Reagan back in 95 at the Strand on Galveston Island, and after already being curious about them from hearing them in first grade at Virginia Beach, he bought the practice chanter, taught himself and after a few years joined a band and learned more. He has piped numerous weddings, funerals, memorials, and Mardi Gras Parades. He also plays the Colquhoun March, which, if you have not heard it, you should. It is a great tune and is "hearable" on some of the Clan Colquhoun websites. I apologize if it is on yours and I overlooked it. We have slow dial up, and I don’t link much. He now lives in Houston and teaches 9th grade English, and is married to Janet.

Robby, his twin has worn the kilt since we learned of our Scottish heritage when they were in high school. Our paternal ggggrandfather and ggggrandmother came from Glasgow. After 8 years in the Navy, he has returned to East Texas to work toward getting his RN degree at UT Tyler, is engaged to Ellarose, our reason for helping plan the wedding in May, and will wear the kilt as often as he can. Too many folks see it as a "uniform" or "costume", when it is really just a piece of bottoms for guys to wear. They both sew and have made several kilts, beginning with their "Mc WalMart" plaid (don’t think I can call it tartan here), then our tartan. Robby made one of camouflage with the pockets and buckles like his uniforms while he was in the Navy. I am enclosing another picture of Ricky in his full military dress uniform, I love to see the pipers dress like this, altho he does just wear the Glengary at times without the Piper's Plaid, spats, horsehair sporran, etc.
